We had a great lunch at one of my friend’s (and my favourite) steak restaurant in Central. Whilst I was hoping to have the modest size serving of an 12oz rib eye as part of their set lunch offering, our table also decided to go nuts and also ordered a 28oz Delmonico to share. As mentioned in my Monza review, Bistecca is the cousin restaurant hence the menus were quite similar. We went Chicago style for all three steaks, the sirloin was cooked medium whilst the rib eye and Delmonico were medium rare. The salad offerings were generous and I like the fact they rotate some of the entrees to add variety. Whilst the prime cuts were of good quality, they are not much to write home about for the price the restaurant was asking. However the Delmonico, oh…….., after one bite of that you wouldn’t want to eat the prime cuts! Juicy, tender, smoky and bursting with flavour, the bits of fat attached to the rib eye sent me to heaven. Not that you needed to dip the different sauces but I was tempted and found the red capsicum sauce went really well with the cut.
