The was a Korean BBQ experience with a difference. The casually decorated restaurant was a break from the typical Korean restaurant look (do they all used the same renovators?) Sitting on oil drum inspired furniture I eagerly awaited for my BBQ experience. Obviously lacking beef in my diet during the past week I opted for the short rib, chuck flap, squid and my regular favourite spicy seafood tofu soup.

The beef was not marinated, juicy and fresh. Not much to write home about on the dipping sauce, I thought salt and sesame oil would have been a great dip.

The service was quite good with the staff personally arranging the squid to be cooked in front of us. After getting through half of the beef, the squid was ready to eat. Peppery, spicy and chewy, the squid was quite delicious. Interestingly the sauce was not as sweet as some other Korean restaurants would make this dish.

The soup was a slight disappointment. The soup tasted seafood enough though not at the level of heat I expected. The flavour was more peppery than chili that you would usually expect to taste.

BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER
Will I go back? Probably, only if there was no other choice
