Feeling like dim sum for lunch, I walked passed this dim sum specialty eatery that had a small but specialised menu. I decided to try some of their house specialty dim sum selection, those being double boil soup, siu mai (pork dumpling with drop of crab roe), pork liver and baked bbq pork bun. The double boil soup contains Chinese herbs, lean pork and dry whelk, served piping hot (just the way I like it). It was a clear, mildly flavoured soup with a revitalising feel after you finish it. If only they go easy on the MSG. The siu mai was delicious and went well with the chili oil. The meat was chewy and tender, the pork fresh. The pork liver was of a superior cut so it is less of a dry and chewy and the rice flour sheet was steamed just right. Unfortunately they changed soy sauce recently and appear to have stocked a lower quality brown salt water substance. Hopefully they will change their supplier after a multitude of complaints from customers. The bbq pork bun was sweet and had a crusty top like a pineapple bun (oh, that’s another review in itself!!). For the price, I thought it was reasonably good quality and I would consider regularly revisiting.
